Delaware retains a special place in the hearts of Americans. As the first state to ratify the Constitution, Delaware is known as a compact, but important, state. It is composed mostly of flat plans, but the northern border has its fair share of rolling hills. Waterfront properties abound in Delaware, either on one of its many rivers and lakes, or along its Atlantic coast.
Like much of the eastern seaboard, Delaware does not experience extreme weather. Generally, it is a pleasant place to live, with highs averaging a warm 85 degrees in the summer. Winters are cool, but moderate, and residents are usually able to participate in outdoor recreational activities year-round.
Currently, the Delaware economy is exceeding national expectations. The economy, fueled mostly by the manufacturing of chemical products, has strengthened over the last couple of years. Job growth in the last year exceeded the national average, and provided plenty of available positions to Delaware’s nearly 785,000 residents.
